Botanicals Fresh Care by L’Oréal Paris

Coriander Strength Source For Damaged Hair

What this range Claims- Reduces hair breakage and fallout and promotes new growth

I love naturally based haircare products. For all those who have been following my haircare routine this last year you would know that I only use sulphate and silicone free shampoo’s as it works best with my hair. An FYI about my hair, I have an oily scalp and dry mid lengths and ends. I’ve colour treated my hair for a few years, but I haven’t done any highlights or colour for about 1 year! My record as I’ve been trying to focus on healthy hair this last year, and bringing the condition of my hair back to its former glory. I also have ALOT of hair, because its so heavy it tends to weigh down my hair making it appear flat after 1 or 2 days. Paraben free haircare products weighs my hair down a lot less and gives my hair much more shine and volume. It also helps to prevent product buildup in the long run. Ive used SO many expensive, luxury haircare products in the past, many didn’t work with my hair and caused so much product buildup within just a few weeks of use.  Its Winter at the moment in Zagreb and my hair usually becomes dry and dull due to using more heat styling than usual. During Summer I let my hair air-dry and embrace my natural curls, I hardly heat style during Summer which I love.

I haven’t used this range long enough to give my full review, but after using it for about 10 days (I washed my hair 3 times within this time frame), Im enjoying it! Every time I use it, it feels as if Im giving my hair a mini spa treatment. It leaves my hair feeling clean and voluminous, especially at the roots which is always my main concern. I love the smell of the shampoo and masque especially, it has an earthy herbal, clean scent but not in an overpowering way. It reminds me of the smell of the spa. Personally I love this, I dislike sweet and floral smelling haircare products.

I invest a lot in my haircare, so I do find this range a great replacement/ alternative for the far more expensive salon brands I had previously used. To be honest, the packaging is what initially caught my eye. Its gorgeous. Simple, apothecary style and looks stunning on display in my bathroom.

I shampoo and condition my hair twice a week and apply a masque once or twice a week as I have very dry mid lengths and ends.

I will continue to use this range for another month so you can expect my full review coming soon.

Overall I am really impressed with the whole L’Oreal Botanical Range, my hair looks healthy and shiny and feels soft and nourished.

Shampoo- Clear, thick, gel- like texture and consistency. Smells DIVINE. I could bathe in this stuff. Smells very clean and fresh. Initially what I loved most about this shampoo is the fact that is produces a nice foamy lather while you are washing your hair. Most sulphate and paraben free shampoos don’t do that. It foams, but not too much, just enough. My hair feels really clean and the strands lightweight and separated. This is what I look for in a shampoo.

Conditioner- Im not a big fan of conditioners. I have thick, dry, hair so I usually use a deeper conditioning hair masque twice a week when I wash my hair.I  do use conditioners often in Summer though as Im swimming and wetting my hair almost everyday. I take it along with me when I go to the beach and apply straight after a swim and shower. I have a Summer trip coming up this weekend, yaaay! So I will keep you updated on how this works for me. Generally, it detangles well and does not feel heavy which I do like. It does the job.

Masque- I loved the texture of this masque. Its not too thick and cream-like (I dont like this type of formulations for hair masks as it usually weighs down my hair too much). Its also not too thin and watery where it feels like my hair sucks up the product is 2 seconds and doesn’t actually have any benefit to my hair. It detangles my hair well. Just make sure to rinse well after use. They recommend to leave on for 3 minutes, but I usually leave on my mid-lednghs and ends (only) for about 15 minutes to half an hour, depending on how much time I have. I dont believe you can leave on hair mask for too long, the longer the better I say, especially if you have dry and damaged hair.

Strength potion- A lightweight leave-in hair treatment that protects fragile hair. Apply mostly to your ends and mid lengths. This is a milky watery  liquid. It feels more like a serum and because of this doesn’t weigh down my hair. I will continue to use this product for the next few weeks and keep you all updated as to weather its actually helped to strengthen my hair and prevent breakage. So far I love this little ‘potion’.

Just an FYI, the Packaging is made from 100% recycled materials, besides the dye used, so please recycle after use babes!
